Penelope Biggadike of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on March 11, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on August 10, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, to George and Lillian Potts, Penelope carried with her throughout life a lively spirit and a heart devoted to others.
Penelope was vibrant, unique, and delightfully whimsical, a woman of bold character and tender compassion. Sharp in mind and gentle in spirit, she had a rare gift for making people feel seen, safe, and supported. She lived sincerely and genuinely, guided by gratitude, empathy, and joy.
Penelope found purpose as a pillar in her family and through her supportive devotion to her husband Bill. She served as an LVN, and as a New Braunfels ISD Board Member, advocating for students and families in her community. As a Master Naturalist, she sought sanctuary surrounded by God’s creations. She was the proud owner and sole-proprietor of a vacation rental Lillian’s Cottage.
Above all, Penelope was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love was steady and generous, a constant presence that nurtured those around her. Her faith and her love of Jesus shaped the way she moved through the world, offering kindness, patience, and grace to everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lillian Potts, and her sisters Cherry and Marsha.
Penelope is survived by her beloved husband, Bill Biggadike; her daughter, Kim Barre, and son-in-law Nelson Barre; their children Daniel, Brian, and Brittany, as well as Nelson Jr., Erin, and Kyra, and seven great-grandchildren; her son Matt Cooper and his children Jed and Josh; her son Ben Biggadike and daughter-in-law Randi, and their children Derek, Jasmine, Jade, and Sophia; and her son Brad West and daughter-in-law Libby, and their son Lucas.
Penelope leaves behind a legacy of warmth, faith, and quiet strength. Like a well-tended garden, the love she planted continues to grow in the lives of her family, her friends, and the many, many people who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor at Freedom Fellowship at 11AM on Good Friday, April 3, 2026, 410 Oak Run Point NB 78132. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Hope Hospice or other Nonprofit of your choice is appreciated.
