Donald Keith Huntsman

Donald Keith Huntsman, 73, of Brazoria County and New Braunfels (that he pronounced “Braunsfels”), TX passed away peacefully March 18, 2026.

Born January 10, 1953 in Freeport, TX, Don was known for being a loving father & grandfather and a hard worker with a smart wit. He worked as an Operator at Dow Chemical which was the bane of his existence, though he kept at it for decades to provide for his family. His passions were writing, music, history and baseball- Go Astros! He was a proud Vietnam Era veteran who deployed to Korea and spent many months at the DMZ during a tense time in the region, but spoke fondly of his days in Seoul.

Don is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lisa, children Rachel Puthuff & husband Jared, Jay Huntsman & wife Kylie and Jill Huntsman; Grandchildren Luke &

Drew Puthuff and Carter Huntsman; Father Victor Huntsman and wife Bea, brother Larry Huntsman and many close friends he saw as family. Don was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Herring Huntsman and his favorite dog, a yellow lab named Belle.

Don will be buried at Restwood Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Clute, TX.
