Michael Harris

Michael Leroy Harris, 77, of Canyon Lake, Texas, passed away on April 7, 2026. Born on February 21, 1949, in Abilene, Kansas to Stanley Ralph and Rosa May Harris.

Michael graduated from Lawrence High School in 1967 and pursued higher education at Pittsburg State University and the University of Kansas. Michael married his high school sweetheart, Marissa (Wells) Harris in 1969 and they were blessed with 2 children,   His early career in Kansas included roles as an inventory controller for an asphalt company and with the Allis Chalmers tractor division. After moving the family to Texas in 1984, he became a painting contractor running his own business Michael’s Painting until his retirement in 2017.

Michael is survived by a son Justin, daughter-in-law Kelly Werth Harris, 3 grandchildren,  Mairzy, Audie, and Hedy, a daughter Samantha Harris Wiginton and son-in-law Browning Wiginton, 2 brothers Stanley Harris (and wife Cindy) and Patrick Harris (and wife Karen), as well as his nephews Jason and Ryan Harris and niece Andrea Todd.

He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley Ralph and Rosa May Harris, along with a beloved niece, Jennifer Harris.

An avid outdoorsman since his youth, Michael enjoyed hunting and fishing  He was also a passionate sports fan who followed the KU Jayhawks, St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Royals, and Kansas City Chiefs with unwavering enthusiasm.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 14, 2026 in the Lux Funeral Home Chapel 1254 Business 35N  in New Braunfels, Tx.  A Viewing will be from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM in the Chapel followed by a  Funeral Service at 1:00 PM.  A Graveside Service will follow  at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park 2951 Tx Hwy 46. Attendees to follow the family to the cemetery ahead of the hearse please.
