Anthony Raul Garcia Jr.

June 22, 1999 ~ August 20, 2025
It’s with heavy hearts and disbelief that we share the passing of our beloved Anthony (AJ) Garcia Jr. At only 26, AJ left us far too soon on August 20, 2025.
AJ was born in San Antonio on June 22, 1999. As a kid he enjoyed riding bikes and skateboards up and down his street and staying out after dark playing tag with all the neighborhood kids. During the long summer days, he and his siblings would get lost in the woods near his house for hours. In seventh grade, AJ’s family moved to New Braunfels and he would eventually make it his permanent home. AJ attended New Braunfels High School where he played football, and he was an active member of Oakwood’s Youth Ministry. He had a passion for mission work as a teenager and accepted Jesus Christ as his savior while doing mission work in the valley. AJ’s first job was at the Gristmill with his brother, and his last job was as Manager at Bill Millers, where he met his partner, Morgan. As an adult, AJ enjoyed the playful, verbal jousting among friends in the pool or over a game of cards. He was quick-witted, competitive, fiercely loyal to his friends, and protective of those he cared for. When AJ loved, he loved with his whole heart, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
AJ is survived by his partner Morgan and her son Malcolm; his mom Jennifer and her partner Craig; his dad Tony (Nancy); his brother Austin and sisters Alyssa, Kristy and Brittany; Grandparents Nana, Gramma & Grandpa, Grandad & Grammy, and Mawmaw & Pawpaw; a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Papaw Rudy, most assuredly, met AJ at the gates with a warm embrace.
We’ll be celebrating AJ’s life on Tuesday, August 26th at 3:00 PM at Lux Funeral Home in New Braunfels. Come as you are, bring a memory or a hug, and let’s Celebrate him with love.
