He loved fishing, especially the annual family trips to Galveston Bay, traveling, and playing games with his family.

He was also musically gifted – an All-State Tuba player and drum major at Victoria High School, and later, a joyful participant in the bell choir at church.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. This picture is just how I remember Bill with his quiet grin! He was a quiet guy but one with a great sense of humor! Mark and I loved having Kathy and Bill over for game night! And Mark had a great time harassing Bill for being a Longhorn! We will miss you Bill! May you rest in peace.❤️🙏

  2. Our deepest sympathies to the family. It was an honor to have known “Uncle Billy” as we often heard. Billy was such a quiet, kind, and gentle man. His warmth and goodness left a lasting impression of which we are blessed to have known him. May his memory continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration.

  3. Bill was one of my favorite customers. I did all of his and Kathys landscaping there at Canyon Lake. He was extremely easy to work with and I will always remember him. God bless you Kathy. My prayers are with you and your family.

  4. I truly enjoyed working for Bill in Dallas at EnCana. His Team meant a lot to him and he worked hard at creating a family atmosphere; a brisket supper at Christmas or a fishing derby on Lake Texoma was his way of pulling us together. I really appreciated Bill and Kathy’s visit to our cottage near Banff when they visited the 51st state, Lol. Be forever well Bill.

  5. Kathy and family, I am so sorry to hear of Billy’s passing. I know this is a huge loss to your family. My prayers are with you for comfort at this difficult time. Thank God for the provision of His Son that we can know Billy’s life is eternal and he is at rest.

  6. We were sorry to hear that Billy suddenly passed away. Billy lived a full life. He was Lutheran. Billy was full of zest
for life. He was musically gifted and was the drum major at Victoria High back in the day. Billy was a graduate of
the University of Texas in mechanical engineering and was a drilling engineer in the oil and gas industry. He loved to fish and had a zest for life. We know that many people will miss Billy. May God bless the entire Laney family during your time of loss. We will be praying for the repose of Billy’s soul.
