In Loving Memory of Clara Meza

Clara Gomez Meza, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, was called to Heaven on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the age of 97.

Clara was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jose Meza, who passed in April 2003; mother, Josephina Lopez Gomez; father Severo Gomez; her cherished sisters Marcelina Gomez, Genoveva Torres, Petra Gomez Hernandez, and Alice Gomez; and brothers Melcher Gomez and Severo Gomez Jr who is survived by his wife Modesta.

She is also lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings: Mary Saenz, Jose Gomez and his wife Mary, Rodolfo Gomez and his wife Paula.

Clara’s legacy lives on through her children: Rita Castilleja and husband Rodolfo, Anita Valdez, Mary Soto, and Arturo Meza. She is a proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

A skilled seamstress for many years, Clara worked at Kater Frocks then LizAnns, where she poured her heart and hands into her craft. She found joy in the simple things-spending time with her siblings, gathering with her large family, and sharing laughter and love with those around her. Her warmth, generosity, and enduring spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 3rd, at Lux Funeral Home. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 4th, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Followed by interment at Saints Peter and Paul cemetery.

Clara’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
