Enocencio Rivera Cruz, age 77, and a life-long resident of New Braunfels, passed away Friday morning, August 29, 2025, at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels. Mr. Cruz was born on August 14, 1948, in New Braunfels to the late Enrique Cruz and Maria Rivera.
Enocencio served his country proudly in the United States Army with distinction and honor, serving in the Vietnam, Honduras, Bosnia and eventually retiring. Mr. Cruz was a member of the VFW Post 7110 of New Braunfels, the Disabled American Veterans and the Knights of Columbus-New Braunfels.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Maria Cruz; siblings, Celestino Cruz, Chavela Sanchez, Cecilia Cruz and Matilde Cruz. Survivors include his loving wife, Melba Cruz; children, Eno Cruz, Jr. and wife, Amanda, Roger Cruz and wife, Claudia, Phillip Cruz and Erasmo Cruz and family; grandchildren, Brittany, Aaron, Brianne, Isabel and Jacob Cruz; great-grandchildren, Leah, Brayden, Braelynn, Aubrey and Elaine; siblings, Enrique Cruz, Jr. and wife, Elena and Yolanda Carreon and husband, Ralph. In addition, Mr. Cruz is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will continue Friday, September 19, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel followed by the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors provided by the United States Army.

Chencho was a great friend, we worked togeather at Iselin plant for over 20 years then we worked for Owens corning for about 15 years, we were a small group of harley riders that rode frequently . Chenco I’ll always remember you always had a smile on your face. May you Rest In Peace.
My heart aches tremendously for yall right now. May the beautiful memories bring you moments of comfort. And may Chencho’s soul rest in eternal peace. He will be GREATLY missed!!
