Gregory Scott Meyer

gregory meyer

It’s with heavy hearts and deep sorrow we announce the passing of Gregory Scott Meyer, who left us far too soon on July 3, 2025 at the young age of 48. He was born in Dayton Ohio on November 26, 1976, but was raised in central Texas. Greg grew up surrounded by the warmth of family and an abundance of friends. He graduated from Navarro high school in 1995 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas University in 2001.

He was a sports enthusiast from a very young age. He played every sport you can think of, and as he grew older, he watched games on a daily basis. Greg was a HUGE longhorn fan and would throw a HOOK ‘ EM HORNS at any given moment.

He met the love of his life, Rebecca Humphrey in November 2008 and they were married by September 2009. Greg and Becky were inseparable. He adored her and would do anything to make her happy. They were a team and proved love conquers all!

Greg is now with his father, Scott in heaven. He is survived by his wife Rebecca “Becky” aka his “Boobi”; his mother Karen; sister Mindy and brother Chris along with many beloved family members and friends.

He was always joking, laughing and had an infectious smile that will live in our hearts forever.
TO KNOW GREG IS TO LOVE GREG.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Greg was a dedicated employee of SRP that was a mentor to many team members. They often looked to Greg for guidance or to make them smile. He will certainly be missed and our team mourns his loss. Prayers to Greg’s family and friends.

  2. Greg was not only my best rep but he was my best bud. I will always miss the uplifting conversations that always ended with “I love you man.”

I was blessed to have known Greg…I loved that dude. Rest easy brother, til Valhalla ❤️🙏

  3. Greg, my brother, we didn’t know each other very long but it felt like we knew each other for years. I remember helping your sister and brother in law move your mom up to San Angelo and I was taking apart the China cabinet doors when you appeared out of nowhere walking in saying ” what’s up b******.” I was like who was that guy, but we talked later on that day and it was a instant brotherhood. We talked almost daily and when I wasn’t awake you would text me “wake up fu*****!” You brought a smile to my face every morning. You were clumsy and not so bright sometimes but you always had a smile on your face and you enjoyed life. Im glad I got to enjoy the small amount of time with you and Becky. Yall would crack me up when yall were upset at each other. Im gonna miss you. \m/ Hook ‘Em my dude! Ill see you on the other side! I love you bro!

  4. Dear Cuz,
As a kid, you were nothing short of heroic to me. I remember you coming over for Thanksgiving and dunking a basketball on a 10-foot goal in jeans and Doc Martens for no other reason than to put a smile on my face.
We both loved deviled eggs. I can confidently speak on your behalf for this, but easily our favorite part of Thanksgiving was deviled eggs. I used to sneak one off the tray before dinner, trying to have me a little taste. You’d walk up to me and yell, “HEY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? LET ME SEE THAT!”
I’d give it to you thinking you were going to take it back to the tray and rat on me, but instead you would just shove it in your mouth and give out the distinctive Greg laugh heard and recognized for miles. You probably did that to me 3-5 times and I fell for it EVERY TIME.
Thank you for introducing me to sports. Thank you for being the definition of an athlete when I was a kid. That meant more than words can express.
Your energy and laugh will live inside of me for the rest of my life. You are the definition of a cool cousin. Thank you for bringing me forever memories while you spent time on this Earth. Love you. I know you’ll be a guiding light for me in the next life just as you were for me in this life.

  5. It was tough to hear about Greg’s passing. He was incredibly kind and warm to me growing up, and I will forever hold those fond memories of him. He truly had a good heart and genuinely thought of others. I will be thinking of Mindy and all of Greg’s family during this time. He made a wonderful impact on those around him and will be greatly missed.

  6. My heart and prayers go out to all that new greg. This time 2 years ago I met greg at my new job. Greg assisted times, he was always willing to help. From the first time we spoke to just a couple weeks ago he stepped up to give helpful advice. I believe he tried to helpful with everyone in his life. A Truly selfless remarkable man that I owe all of my respect. He will be greatly missed.
