Jeanette Shelton Prell

Jeanette Prell of New Braunfels, TX died at the age of 83 on October 24, 2025 in her home in New Braunfels, TX. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 15, 1942 to L. W. and Ruby Shelton.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband Leonard B. Prell, mother, Ruby Shelton, father, L.W. Shelton, brother Lester Wayne Shelton, sister Laticia Shelton, and brother Wallace Shelton.

She is survived by her children, Laticia Marie of New Braunfels and Edward LeMark Lasater of Chula Vista, CA; granddaughters, Erica LeAnn Mullendore, and Elisa Lauren Lasater; Sisters Betty Ann Hildebrand of New Braunfels, and Lisa Jones of New Braunfels; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Jeanette held dual degrees in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio and Nursing from San Antonio College. She worked for the State of Texas as a nurse for many years, retiring from the Department of Human Services. In addition, she was an accountant for Fox Photo and Columbia Industries. She served as accountant and Parish Administrator for St. John’s Episcopal Church or many years.

A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Cemetery on Austin Hwy in San Antonio, TX at a later date.
