Jesus Farias, Jr.

January 26, 1932 ~ July 10, 2019
Jesus Farias, Jr., age 87, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Sundance Inn Health Center. Jesus was born on January 26, 1932 in New Braunfels, Texas to Jesus Farias, Sr., and Guadalupe Gaytan Farias.
From a young age he was fearless and made no apologies for his actions. He always said “when I was in the world I wasn’t afraid to say or do anything so now even more I do the same for the Lord”. His life is a testimony of God’s grace and mercy that he shared throughout his life. His stories were what his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren looked forward to hearing over breakfast. His many mission trips to Mexico not only blessed others but filled him with joy for the fact that he was fulfilling his calling and bringing people to the Lord. His passion for the word of God was passed on to family, friends and strangers. He probably had the longest prayer list as he always made time to pray and lay hands on those in need of it. That was Brother Farias, better known as Guelo.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Concepcion M. Farias; parents, Jesus Farias, Sr. and Guadalupe Farias; siblings, Lino Farias and Elizar Farias. Survivors include his children, Jesus Farias III and wife Dora, Gasper Farias and wife Norma, and Imelda Morales and husband Emilio; grandchildren, Suzette Mata and husband Michael, Claudia Cruz and husband Roger, Jessica Farias, Shekinah Barrientez and husband Jody, Zachary Farias, Destinee Alverson and husband Djaye, Austin Farias, and Elisa Morales; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Sarai, Cory, Eli, Isabel, and Dezi; and siblings, Lupe Babbitt, Alma Cameron, Felix Farias, Judy Gauthier, Sally Gutierrez, Elida Aguirre, Pete Farias, Walter Farias, Arturo Farias, Lino Farias, and Blanca Vela.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 PM on Monday, July 15, 2019 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume at the Funeral Home from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. A procession will follow from the funeral home to Hill Country Memorial Gardens.
We will carry on your memory and love for family. Save us a seat up there…we’ll see you again.
PRAISE THE LORD!!
We are so blessed to have had such a loving and selfless man of God that we got to call our Guelo for as long as we did. We will forever keep your memories alive Guelo! I love you with all my heart and will miss you everyday til I see you again.
