Johnny Stone Macias, 79, departed this life and was welcomed Home by the Lord on Monday May 12, 2025, he was surrounded by his family that held his heart. Johnny was born December 19, 1945 in Lamesa, Texas.

Johnny served 7 years in the military, and worked in automotive as a painter and body man for 30 years. He also enjoyed refurbishing furniture, watching his Gun Smoke, Whataburger and his vanilla shakes. In addition, he also enjoyed sitting outside with his wife and going on walks in the morning and evening, enjoying the fresh air. He loved going to Bussey’s Flea Market and most of all he loved having family around.

Johnny was a devoted husband to Alice Macias, sharing 44 years of marriage filled with love and companionship. He was also a cherished father to his children: Patricia Cortez (Adan Cortez), Elvira Macias and Jeremiah Macias.

Johnny had a total of 10 grandchildren who he loved deeply: Daniella, Alexis, Zoey, Alyshia, Nehemiah, Sonny Ray, Emanuel, Isiah, Zachariah, and Gianni, and 6 great-grandchildren: Grayson, Oakley, Elizabeth, Alejandra, Jayden and Kayden. He is survived by his brother, Ernest Macias, along with numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Preceding him in death were his father, Joe Macias, Sr.; mother, Elvira Macias; brother, Joe Macias; sister, Lilly Macias and his son, Jeremy Macias.

As we remember Johnny Macias, we hold on to the precious memories and the warmth he brought to our lives. He now has a special seat in heaven, where he will be watching over all who loved him.

I would like to send special thanks to our mother who took great care of our father and spent every second of the day with him. We would also like to say thank you to Elara Hospice for their care and support.

  6. My sincere condolences to the family of Johnny Macias. I want to say how grateful I am to Johnny and Belia for bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to me and many others in my family. In February 1976, they introduced me to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I was going through so much confusion and chaos – my faith was gone. They brought Jesus and peace to my life and restored my faith. I hope Johnny knew what an impact his ministry had on so many people’s lives. Sincerely, Olga (Saldivar) Lozano.

  7. Uncle Johnny,
The Lord worked mightily through you. Through your obedience, your ministry touched and transformed the lives of so many. I am so blessed to be one of those that was changed and transformed. I remember, back in late 1975, the excitement when you preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ to us in Lamesa. I was just an 11 year old kid back then and when you preached the Good News, it ignited a great revival that changed our lives forever and we were never the same again. Thank you so much for your love, sacrifice, commitment and dedication that you imparted to all of us.

You fought the good fight, you finished the race, and you kept the faith. We miss you Uncle Johnny, we will never forget you and we rejoice because you are seated in the Heavenlies among the Great Cloud of Witnesses.
    Thank you Lord Jesus!
