Celebrating the Life of Margarita Veloz Cardoza
Margarita Veloz Cardoza, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025 at the age of 71. Born on October 17, 1953 in Sabinas, Coahuila, Mexico, Margarita built a beautiful life filled with love, family, and dedication.
She spent most of her life in Chicago, Illinois where she and her husband Javier raised their family. For more than 20 years Margarita worked at Jewel-Osco where she was known for her kindness, reliability, and hard work.
Outside of work, Margarita found joy in the simple things that brought her closer to the people she loved. She had a passion for knitting and sewing, often creating thoughtful, handmade pieces for her family. Traveling was another source of happiness, as was sharing adventures with Javier. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, where she laughed, played, and made lasting memories with her husband and friends.
Above all, Margarita was devoted to her family. She gave selflessly, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by her loved ones, who will forever remember her as a woman who sacrificed much, loved deeply, and welcomed everyone as if they were part of her family.
Margarita’s memory will be cherished by her husband, Javier; her sons Roman (Rachael), Ruben (Katie), and Rolando (Valerie); and her grandchildren Luke, Daniel, and Vincent. She was a proud and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her siblings Victor, Rosie, and Maria.
She is preceded in death by her siblings Griselda and Juanita, and her beloved grandson Anthony, whose memory she carried dearly in her heart.
Margarita leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and warmth that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

What a wonderful person. The pleasure was all ours. Margarita opened her heart and smiles to us. Complete strangers as we were, but her kindness and strength allowed us to bond. What a loving, caring, and beautiful person. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her. Javier was her guiding light. May all your family know peace. Our prayers are with all the family.
