Mary “Sue” Coats 81, of New Braunfels, Texas passed away on May 13, 2025. She was born on February 13, 1944 to Clyde E. Jackson and Pauline Pickle in Weatherford, Texas.

She grew up in Weatherford, then spent many years with her husband Bill (William) and three children in Live Oak, located in the San Antonio area. She then had the pleasure of living a country life style outside of New Braunfels over the past three and a half years. She enjoyed living next door to her son Tim and his family during that time. They visited and/or checked on her everyday. Her, daughters, Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren remained very close with frequent visits as well.

She always said, “I have the best family in the world!”

She loved to cook and bake. “Sue“ shared her down home cooking with many and often tempted others by posting her delicious dishes and baked goods on Facebook. She was even a cook at Whataburger for many years, faithfully arriving in the early morning hours to cook breakfast for her customers.
She also enjoyed gardening and nourishing her plants. She definitely had a green thumb and knew how to make her plants thrive.

Sue loved Bluegrass and Country music. One of her favorite past times was playing the upright bass in the family Bluegrass band.

Mary “Sue”is survived by her daughter Brenda Williams, husband (Waymon), her son Tim Coats, wife (Lisa), her daughter Lisa Milliken, husband (Jason), her grandchildren Tanya Rackley husband (Caleb), Joshua McGlothlin, wife (Crystal), Caleb Coats wife (Lena), Seth Coats and friend (Aiko), Ashlie Ford husband, (Chase). Also her great-grandchildren Aden, Kaitlyn, William “Liam”, William “Finn”, Alice, Sloane and brand new baby Garrett.

She is also survived by her sisters Norma Jean Mitchell and Betty Gustafson, her brother Ray Jackson, wife (Leeann).

She is predeceased by her husband William “Bill” M. Coats, her parents, her brothers Robert Jackson, Randy “Butch” Jackson, Ben Jackson, and her sister Faye Phelan.
