Patricia Lee Foster, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 76.

Born on May 11, 1949, in El Paso, Texas, Patricia was the daughter of Emma and JC Harrison. She grew up in El Paso and, over the years, made her home in Dallas, Colorado Springs, New Braunfels, and San Antonio.

Patricia was a gifted artist and writer. Her paintings were vibrant expressions of emotion and memory, and she poured her heart into her creative work. She had a deep love of books, especially by authors like Jodi Picoult and Anne Tyler, and passed on her passion for art, reading, and learning to her children and grandchildren. She found joy in music and cherished the sounds of Janis Joplin, John Lennon, the Eagles, Bob Dylan, and the Doobie
Brothers.

Life was not always easy for Patricia and she faced her share of personal battles and carried burdens that few could see. And yet, through it all, she remained a woman of quiet strength and a tender heart. She believed deeply in loving people for who they are and embraced the LGBTQ+ community with warmth and pride. Her life was rooted in compassion, creativity, and authenticity.

She is survived by her children, Candice LaPree-Chavez and Matthew Foster; her grandchildren, Dalton LaPree-Chavez, Sabrina LaPree-Chavez, Isabella LaPree-Chavez, Ranoa Foster, and Aeris Foster; her sister, Kathy Clamon; her brother, Alan Harrison; and her former husband, David LaPree. She was preceded in death by her parents and former husband, Don Foster,Jr.

A memorial will be planned at a future date. Patricia will be cremated, as was her wish. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Patricia’s memory by calling a friend to tell them how much they mean to you, or by performing an act of kindness in her name.

She believed in good stories, good music, and good people. And that belief made her unforgettable.
