Regina Beatrice Baca

November 24, 1963 ~ December 2, 2016
Regina "Gina" B. Baca, age 53, a longtime resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Friday, Dec 2, 2016 after an extended battle with Lupus. Gina was born in Lubbock, Texas to Ray and Alma Bevers on November 24, 1963. Gina was a daughter, sister, wife, loving mother and grandmother.
Gina considered her daughters and granddaughters her greatest achievement in life. She was a doting mother and grandmother who loved nothing more than being in the presence of her family. She loved to garden, cook, sew, make crafts, interior decorating and to write many loving notes ending with XOXO.
Gina was a disc jockey for country western radio stations in West Texas in the late 70's and early 80's. Later as a Registered Nurse, she cared for a multitude of people who needed the compassion and dedication she brought to Nursing. As a Labor & Delivery Nurse, she welcomed 150 Texans into the world. She raised two beautiful daughters to become Nurses as well.
Gina is survived by her husband, Gilbert Baca, daughters Megan Morelock, Morgan Hayes and husband, Jarel, plus two granddaughters Haley and Lillian Morelock. She also leaves two brothers, Johnny and David Bevers, and two sisters, Kaye Kendall and Donna Guinn. She is preceded in death by her father, mother and two sisters, Carolyn Faye Lees and Sharon Marlow.
Gina's body will be cremated. In lieu of a funeral service, the family will hold a Memorial gathering at their home on Saturday, December 10th from 10 AM to 2 PM. Her family offers anyone who wishes an opportunity to stop by her home and pay their respects to her family. If you are family or friend who wishes to stop by, please contact an immediate family member for a street address.
Her family would like to thank Guadalupe Regional Medical Center as well as GRMC Hospice for their professional care throughout the last few years of her life. Thank you to our wonderful family, friends and neighbors for your heartfelt support.
I love you so much mom! You will always and forever be my sunshine.

I love you, Mommy. ❤️ My heart aches that you’re not with us. You raised two independent women and we are doing just what you want us to do. Always be our sunshine. ☀️️
What a fantastic lady! I knew her all too briefly, but I could tell that the love she had for her family and friends was pure and unbreakable. Her daughters are two beautiful, independent, and strong women who will continue to carry her legacy of caring for others into the future. I am very saddened by her passing, but I know where she went, and it’s a much better place than here.

Hello this is Haley Morelock I’m Nanas grand daughter (Reginas) Thank you all for the love and support we know we all miss Nana but my Mom and aunt(Reginas kids) love her most, we all pray and send love and she is happy in heaven because she stopped hurting, she may not be standing with us but she always makes sure we are ok in our hearts. She told me right before she past away, “ I love you to the moon and back. And don’t cry when I die because I am in a happy place not hurting in a hospital bed.“ and I love her so much the last time I saw her was when Grampie (Gilbert) was making us breakfast. Love you nana you are so so so so special to me love u and miss you.
XOXO,
your granddaughter
Haley Morelock
You are my sunshine
