With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of Robert (Bob) Slavens, who passed away at the age of 86, leaving behind a legacy of service, faith, and family.

A proud veteran, Bob dedicated his early years to protecting the country he loved, serving with honor in both the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army.

To his family, he was the ultimate anchor. He was a devoted husband, a supportive father, and the legendary grandfather and great-grandfather who could always be found in his favorite chair, tapping his toes to a classic country song. Whether it was Wille Nelson, Merle Haggard or George Jones, the music of his life was always playing in the background of a home filled with laughter.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Ann Slavens; his children, Robert Dean Slavens Jr., Sheryl Ann Slavens, and Ricky Alan Slavens; his brother, Dennis Wesley Slavens and a joyful tribe of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever miss his stories and his smile.

He has now gone home to the ultimate reunion, where the music never ends and the spirit is at rest.
