Valentin G. Rodriguez, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 in San Antonio at the age of 73. Valentin was born on February 14, 1939 in Comal County to Juan Rodriguez and Florencia Gonzalez Rodriguez. He later married Armanda Martinez. During most of Valentin's professional career, he worked as a self-employed carpenter. Moreover, he was a long-time deacon at La Hermosa Church in Seguin. He was preceded in death by his parents; three daughters and brothers and sisters. Survivors include his loving wife, Armanda M. Rodriguez; son, Valentin M. Rodriguez, Jr. and wife, Dana Lyn; daughter, Rachel M. Hernandez and husband, Jose G. Munoz; step-children, Abel Trejo, Nancy Trejo-Gonzales and Terry Trejo; brothers and sisters, Mingo, Johnny, Rudy and Manuela Venecia; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, November 26, 2012 with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:30 PM at La Hermosa Church, 408 W. Shelby St., Seguin, TX 78155. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at La Hermosa Church. Burial will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
