Yolanda B. Costilla
August 29, 1945 ~ July 26, 2018
Yolanda B. Costilla, a resident of Spring Branch, passed away on Thursday afternoon, July 26, 2018 at Main Methodist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 72. Yolanda was born on August 29, 1945 in Laredo, TX to Pablo Borrego and Margarita Garza Borrego. Mrs. Costilla loved to cook and enjoyed family time with her children and grandchildren. She had fun visiting garage sales on Saturdays. Mom accepted Christ as her savior and continued her walk with Him for 35 years. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Laredo for many years. Throughout Yolanda’s lifetime, regardless of the church, she was active in all aspects of the life of the church. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Guadalupe Costilla; son, Eddie Costilla and wife, Anita; daughters, Irene Garibay and husband, Ismael, Norma Tijerina and husband, Amador, Isabel Serrano and husband, Jorge, Sylvia Gomez and husband, Ramiro and Sarah Sanchez and husband, Gabriel; sisters, Christina Garcia and Maria Teresa Carpenter and husband, Alejandro; brothers, Juan Borrego and Fructuoso Pizana and wife, Frances. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a funeral services beginning at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel with her son-in-law, Rev. Ismael Garibay, officiating. All services will end on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Tomie and I have good memories of Hna. Yolanda Costilla, a strong and faithful Christian woman. She leaves a legacy of always being active in church because she loved God. The Costilla’s home was always open to the Lord’s work. We are grateful for her friendship and compañerismo. Hna. Costilla is now resting and rejoicing in the presence of our God. She will be greatly missed.

May God Bless the family during these difficult times. Mrs. Costilla was a strong woman of faith. As the matriarch of he family, she loved her immediate family as well as her extended family. I will always have fond memories of her growing up, and I know that God has accepted another angel to his kingdom. My thoughts and prayers are with the Costilla family. God Bless.
