Annick Monique Poloskey

Annick Monique Poloskey passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022, in New Braunfels, TX, at age 65. Annick was born on August 10, 1957, in Chaumont, France. Her parents, David and Louisette Montcalm, moved Annick and her sister (Patricia) to multiple homes due to David's Air Force service before settling in San Antonio, TX. Annick attended John Jay High School and would meet her best friend and future husband, Patrick Poloskey, sitting outside on a friend’s front lawn. Practically inseparable from the start, Pat and Annick were married on May 1, 1976. Annick served as a licensed nurse and would later go back to school to become a Registered Nurse. Annick and Pat welcomed their son, Jeremy Patrick, in March 1977 and their daughter, Jocelyn Rae, in November 1979. In 1982, Pat and Annick built their family home in San Antonio, where they would live for the next 37 years, hosting countless birthday parties, BBQs, and family gatherings. When both Jeremy and Jocelyn graduated from the University of Texas at Austin (1999 and 2002) and officially left the nest, Pat and Annick started traveling. From France to Mexico, Jamaica to Arizona, and on several cruises, they eventually found their way to Hawaii. They fell in love with the Hawaiian Islands and would return every chance they got over the next 15 years. In 2010, they welcomed Jacob Patrick, the first of their four grandchildren, followed by Frida Parker (2012), Leila Apolonia Perez (2014) and Nicholas Patrick Perez (2015). Following retirement in 2016, Pat and Annick would host Camp Grandma (summer weeks with the grandkids), trips to Schlitterbahn and Sea World, and magical Christmas mornings. Pat and Annick moved to New Braunfels in 2019 to be closer to their kids and grandchildren. Annick was diagnosed with ALS in May 2020 and would fight courageously for two and half years against this horrible disease. Annick is survived by her husband and children, their spouses Blair Poloskey and Ian Perez, her grandchildren, her sister and mother, and many nieces and nephews.

We love you so much! Your heart was pure gold! You were the light in the room and had a smile that could lift up anyone. You were an amazing mother. I always looked forward to seeing you and you giving me those really tight hugs. Your laugh was contagious and will always be remember. Thank you for loving my family just like yours. Chance loved seeing and playing with you. I will never forget when he saw you walk in on his 2nd birthday, how he ran straight to you and looooved his helmet! We love you so much and I am so thankful I got to see you hold my boys! You will never be forgotten!

My friend and co-worker Annick. We became friends from the start. I love Annick. We had so much in common. We even had a similar style of clothes, jeans, teva sandals you know groovy type of clothes. We wore coco mademoiselle perfume. We both owned and loved chihuahuas. Annick believed in recycling, she often gave me clothes that she thought would be a perfect fit. Annick was a good listener, we talked about our love of the ocean. She even gave me a little jar of souvenir sand as I always wanted to live near the beach. She said you own some sand…I still have that bottle and cherish it. She told me about cruising and I’ve gone on several since. Annick loved her family, she said when she met Pat she knew he was the one..she loved loved her children and grand babies. I often thought of Annick as Mother Earth, after hearing the story of her ushering a chameleon out of Sams Club so he wouldn’t get hurt…She cared for all creatures and humans alike. My heart aches but there are two things I know. Her citizenship is in heaven, she’s home and whole, we’ll meet again and embrace. And although heartfelt ache for us, on the other side of death is happiness….Be happy Annick…..
