antonia salazar
Antonia Salazar, 93, of Giddings, TX, passed away on February 14, 2022. Antonia was born on October 20, 1928 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Antonia was the second youngest of ten siblings. Antonia met her sweetheart, Noe Salazar, in 1948 and they married shortly after in 1950. After Noe’s death in 2014, Antonia moved to Seguin, TX to live with her daughter, Diana. Antonia loved to listen to music and to dance. She was an outstanding cook. In fact, we are certain that no one can make refried beans as well as she could. Antonia enjoyed keeping her yard clean and her plants green. She watered her plants every day and could grow anything from even just a stem. Antonia also enjoyed sewing quilts and sharing them with her family. Antonia was known for her matter-of-fact attitude, making her loved ones laugh, and most importantly, for deeply loving her family. Antonia is survived by her daughters, Diana Salazar Lanham of Seguin and Noelia Salazar of Thrall, TX; her three grandchildren, Lolito Martinez of Cotulla, Myrna Soto of Eagle Pass and Jaime Martinez of New Braunfels; her eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that considered her their “Wella” as well. Graveside services to honor Antonia will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Cotulla East Cemetery. Immediately following the service, a gathering for fellowship will take place at the home of Sefe Salazar, located at 713 Alta Vista, Cotulla, TX.
