Antonio Piñon, also known as “Big Tony”, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 18, 2021, in New Braunfels, Texas at the age of 73. Antonio was born on May 29, 1948, in El Paso, Texas to Jesus Piñon and Maria de Jesus Vasquez-Piñon. The eldest of 4 siblings, Tony grew up in El Paso, Texas. As a life-long resident of the Sun City, Tony graduated from Cathedral High School in 1967 and from the University of Texas El Paso in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He worked as a computer programmer for many years prior to his retirement. Tony met Esther, his beloved wife of 49 years, and they wed in 1972. They were blessed with two amazing children: Michelle and Little Tony. His greatest love was the love of the Lord and the love of his family. He and his wife later moved to New Braunfels, Texas spending his last two years enjoying life with his grandchildren. Antonio is survived by his loving wife, Esther Piñon; children, Michelle Piñon-Butler and husband David Butler and Anthony Piñon and wife Patricia Piñon; grandchildren, Virginia Butler, Anthony Butler and Nolan Piñon; and siblings, Linda Diaz, Gilbert Piñon, and Elizabeth Piñon-Putera. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Freedom Fellowship Church in New Braunfels, Texas. A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Freedom Fellowship Church. A meal will be held in the Family Center of Freedom Fellowship Church immediately following the funeral service. The funeral procession will depart from the church at 1:00 PM for a burial ceremony at Hill Country Memorial Gardens.
