Audra T. Flores

audra flores
Audra T. Flores, 53, was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 28th, 1967 and went to be with the lord November 3rd, 2020 in Cibolo, Texas in the arms of her husband and daughter. There are so many words to describe Audra…funny, strong, stubborn, faithful…but one word stands out amongst the rest...Happy. Throughout every barrage of punches life threw her way she kept on smiling back. Even when she lost the strength to do very much of anything, she made sure to remain happy and make everyone laugh. Her attitude and charisma in the face of death was that of an angel. Audra was so strong and so happy with her life and it showed by the numerous people she affected. Her strength was absorbed by her strong-willed husband Bill. Her wit and happiness were absorbed by her wonderful daughter Brittany. Audra’s contagious laughter will be absorbed by everyone who met her. In the end we knew she was happy. Audra knew...she was happy. She made everyone she met a better person. Audra had many passions in her life. She loved to watch her daughter Brittany play sports growing up. As Brittany would say, her form of support was yelling “that’s my baby girl!” or “Way to go Britt!”. She also showed her support by photographing every moment. Not just at Brittany’s soccer games but whenever she could. You always found Audra with a camera. She took pictures of everything and found a way to incorporate them into her everyday life whether it was a framed picture in her home or a wallpaper on her computer. When she first got sick, while Bill was working, she was scanning in pictures. She turned them into photobooks of trips they took, or moments in her life. It was her way of staying busy and passing the time. She would even take pictures of the hotels they stayed at when they traveled. The actual buildings. This leads us to another passion of hers which is traveling. Whenever she was healthy or even sick, she was living it up on the beach or swimming with dolphins. Of the many trips she took she really enjoyed Disney World, Graceland, Chicago, and Colorado. When it comes to interior design, let’s just say the original paint doesn’t exist in her family’s home. She kept wanting to change the colors constantly. She painted canvas’ to hang in the house, made her very own curtains to hang, and decorated every room. Home was an essential part of Audra’s life. In her home she enjoyed all types of family games. Her favorite was bunco. As long as family and friends were with her it didn’t matter what game they played. Of all these passions we have mentioned they always included two things: Family and faith. Church was a big part of Audra’s life. She always tried to make it to church. Even when she was sick and unable to leave the house, she was up and ready to watch the livestream of service. Sundays were a favorite part of Audra’s week because it meant family time and church time. Her friends and family were always her biggest passion. She frequently called up friends just to check in and see how they were doing. Family meant everything to Audra. She did everything and anything with them. From vacations to just sitting around watching her favorite TV shows. She never wanted to leave her husband and daughters’ side. In the end, she never did. The two loves of Audra’s life were her husband Bill and her daughter Brittany. One of the happiest days of her life was July 23rd, 1994 when she married her forever partner. Audra and Bill met in 1988 at Cestohowa dancehall. It was love at first sight. From that moment on they were inseparable. Audra followed Bill throughout his baseball career and was sure to support him at every game. They would go out and dance at all hours of the night whether it was with friends or just each other. If they weren’t dancing, then they were traveling. They took many trips together from Cancun to New Mexico to Dallas. September 17th, 1995 was the day their life together changed forever; their baby girl was born. From that day forward the duo turned into a trio. Brittany was the light of their lives. After Audra’s diagnosis of brain cancer in 2006, seeing Brittany grow up was what kept her going all these years. All those years she battled cancer she got to see her girl grow into a wonderful young woman. She was able to see her baby girl finish high school, sign her letter of intent to play college soccer, graduate college, and see her get married. These were moments she cherished forever. Audra is survived by her husband Bill Flores, daughter Brittany Hatcher, mother Joyce Kelland, Father Richard Rheinhardt, Sister Arlene Johnson, in-laws Jeff Johnson, Jo Ann Flores, Jacob Hatcher and many loved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her uncle Charles Townsend and Grandmother Audra O. Kelland. A memorial service will take place virtually on Friday, November 6th, 2020 at 4:00pm. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I remember when my Dad was put in a home and then hospitalized. Audra would call to say hi and see if I was doing ok. She really cared. No one knows how much it means until they experience that kind of friendship, love, caring for a friend, going that extra mile. It was one of the most special moments during that sad time in my life. I’ll never forget that. I miss you dearly . I hope you get an extra special set of wings, you deserve them. Love your friend and former classmate Paula Moehrig.

  2. Our Family is thinking of your Family, during this difficult time. We can’t imagine, the pain you feel, so very sorry……
