  5. I met Barb when she came to work at my real estate company. We clicked right away. I mentored her a bit in real estate and over a little time we became friends. Fifteen years later we had shared financial ups and downs. Bad relationship breakups, new beginning relationships, real estate deals together. I trusted her and she trusted me We always had each other’s back. Barb loved to laugh, she saw humor in so many things. We loved to have parties and we had lots of those! She loved her friends, her family and all of us loved her. She made it easy to care about her because she had such a heart. She was such a bright lite in my little corner of the universe and I will miss her forever. RIP my dear friend

    • Thank you, Deb and Don for your thoughtful words. It comforts us to know she had you and so many others in her life as her “Texas family”.

  6. I find it difficult to express with words how meaningful Barb’s life was and how much she meant to me and my family. I met Barb shortly after she moved to Texas when we both started at the same real estate brokerage at about the same time. Coincidentally, she ended up buying a house just down the street from my partner and when I moved to the lake, there she was! She and I spent a lot of time together browsing thrift and antique stores, spending time on her lovely treehouse deck, and sharing so much laughter and yes, even many tears together. I am honored to have been part of her “chosen” family, and after meeting many of them, I can understand why family was so important to her. My deepest sympathies to Rick, her family, and Tubbs. She will live in my heart and I will remember her with joy and love.

    • Thank you, Layla. Your sentiment means so much to our family during this difficult time. Meeting you and hearing your stories about your friendship with our sister is comforting.

  7. I have known Barb Lucas for years……she was one of my Realtors who mainly worked Rental units for several professionals in the New Braunfels area.

She was always sharing a funny story about something she was involved in during each visit with me.

What I will always remember is that she was a true professional Realtor – sometimes working out significant problems when they came up in her area of responsibility, never wavering from the needs of her clients – always clients FIRST!

She will be sorely missed by everyone in my real estate office.

A Class Act Lady and Professional Realtor
