Brian Wheeler Bell passed away on May 9, 2022, at the age of 68. He was born on December 25, 1953 in Houston, TX to Roy Wheeler Bell Jr. and Thelma Elizabeth (Betsy) Kunnecke Bell. He was married to the love of his life Carla Wood Bell for 16 years. Brian went to Peacock Military Academy in 1970 and was in the ROTC Program. Unfortunately, PMA closed in 1972 and Brian finished and graduated in 1973 from San Marcos Academy. He then went into the Navy for 4 years with some of his buddies from High School. Brian’s nick name throughout was Captain Demerit which he proudly continued on throughout the Navy. It was badge of Honor! In the Navy, Brian was a hull technician and learned his lifelong trade and became a plumber. He was a Master Plumber for 38 Years. Brian enjoyed fishing, boating, loved being around his family and friends and was passionate about God. Brian will forever be remembered by his devoted family: His wife of 16 years Carla Bell, and her daughter Georgianna Kogel; loving children Brandon Patrick Bell and Breanna Leigh Brader; Sister Roberta (Robbie) Elizabeth Bily, her husband Walter Bily and their two sons Austin Bily and Parker Bily, and his wife Janis Bily; and Aunt Nicole Kunnecke, along with countless friends who were blessed to know him. He is preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth (Betsy) Kunnecke Bell, and Uncles Benton Fitch Kunnecke and Robert Brashear Kunnecke. Brian touched the lives of many people with his witty sense of humor and genuine care for anyone that he would meet. Family and Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM at River City Church located at 16765 Lookout Road, Selma, TX 78154. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation which benefits First Responders, their families and Veterans at www.t2t.org or mailed to 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306 in honor and memory of Brian.

  3. So many to share. My Best Man at my wedding, joined the Navy and went to Boot Camp together. Stayed in contact with each other till his death. Great personality that never met a stranger. Fair Winds and Following Seas Brother.

  8. Our Condolences to Brian’s family, Brian and I were classmates for 1 year at Peacock Military Academy in 1971 and I can you tell you as I am sure others have that he was a good friend to many. It has been 51 years since I last saw him and to tell you that I have good memories of him speaks volumes for the type of person he was, a good friend to have at that chapter of our lives.   9. I attended military school with Brian we were very close. We played football together and we were in the same platoon our senior year. We saw each other again in San Diego when we were both in the Navy. He was a great friend.
