carlos carrasco, jr.
Carlos Carrasco, Jr., age 64, and a long-time resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Thursday afternoon, January 18, 2018 at Resolute Health Hospital in New Braunfels. Carlos was born on March 27, 1953 in Brownsville, TX to the late Carlos Carrasco, Sr. and Josefina Sauceda Carrasco. At the young age of 13, Carlos started working at Rahe Packing Meat Company. He then began a 17-year career as a butcher at Charlie’s Meat Market, first in McQueeney and then in Seguin. He then spent his last four years before retirement at Granzin’s Meat Market, which ironically, 50 years ago, was the original location of Rahe Packing Meat Company. Upon retirement, Carlos catered many events around New Braunfels and the surrounding area. Carlos was preceded in death by his parents and by his nephew, Michael Carrasco. Survivors include his sisters, Janie Medrano and husband, Richard, Guadalupe Corona, Maria Flores, Isabel Carrillo and Amalia Carrasco; brother, Christobal Carrasco, and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM followed by Carlos’ family reading his eulogy on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. All services will end on Monday evening at the funeral home. Carlos was loved beyond words by his family. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.

  1. My condolences to the Carrasco families. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of dear Carlos. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which says “Your dead ones will live…They will rise up”. And the Bible also says “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will forever reside upon it”. Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says “Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out “. This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ’s ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering . I hope that these scriptures will be of some comfort to you.

  2. We are so sorry to hear about Carlos may god be with you during this difficult time. He is in heaven and flying with the angels.

  3. While I haven’t spoken to Carlos since our high school days, I’ll never forget his smile, his laugh, his antics in Spanish class that had Mr. Mendez simultaneously laughing and growling! I see from h is photo here he continued to be a good looking guy and it sounds like he had a large, loving family. I’m glad he had you all in his life.

  4. My deepest Sympathy for your family’s loss.
May God bring you Peace & Love.
