Carolyn Cole Loving, formerly of Houston, TX passed away on March 3, 2020 in New Braunfels, TX at the age of 90. Carolyn was born in Alexandria, LA on Nov. 27, 1929 to Carrel D. and Helen G. Cole (nee Humble). She grew up in southern Louisiana and eventually moved to Houston with her parents. Carolyn graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1948, then attended Northwestern Louisiana where she majored in music. Following college she went to work for Braniff Airlines as an Airline Hostess. Later, she worked as a Medical Secretary for M. D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, TX. On February 2, 1952 Carolyn married Lt. (USAF) Arnim L. Brantley. Although this marriage ended in divorce in 1974, Carolyn and Arnim had many good years and three children together: Richard, Christie and Mark. Carolyn married James Loving in 1982. Carolyn absolutely insisted on enjoying life. She was an accomplished pianist, she loved to dance (especially the jitterbug) and she loved animals. She had numerous pets including parakeets, guinea pigs, cats, horses, rabbits and many dogs. Carolyn loved the outdoors and was a lifelong camper, enjoying camping with her children and then on into her 70s, with her little dog, Peaches. Carolyn loved boating and NW Florida, especially. She was an avid water skier and enjoyed fishing. Affectionately known as “Boo”, she adored spending time and “cutting up” with her grandchildren and the feeling was mutual. Carolyn was friendly and outgoing and was loved by everyone for her great sense of humor, zest for life, and love of laughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Arnim, and her husband, Jim. She will be deeply missed by her children Ric (Carol) Brantley, Christie (Mike) Lammers, and Mark (Tracy) Brantley; grandchildren Cole Brantley, Adam Lammers, Kevin (Lindsay) Lammers, Ashley (Brandon) Formoso and Caitlin (Wes) Feltman; greatgrandchildren Charlotte Rae Lammers, Gabriella and Adam Formoso, and Camren, Brody, Madelynn and Nolan Feltman, as well as many friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society in Carolyn’s name. A memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends.
