clarice baggett
Clarice Milner Baggett, age 88, passed away on Monday November 2, 2020 at her home, with family at her side. Clarice was born July 27, 1932 to Jud and Katie (Coffey) Milner, in Laird Hill, Texas, near Kilgore. She was raised mostly in east New Mexico and west Texas in the oil fields where her father worked. Clarice had many talents. She learned tap dance and baton twirling, played piano and clarinet. She was an excellent soprano singer. She sewed very well and made clothes and costumes for her kids, and home accessories. She enjoyed theater plays and musicals, acted in a community theater group, as well as made costumes for the productions. She enjoyed the movie musicals from the 1930s and 40s, watching them on DVD often. Worship and service were central to Clarice’s life. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and a devoted Bible learner. She quietly did many good works to help others, making meals, giving rides, visiting nursing home patients, babysitting, and tutoring, among others. She taught correspondence Bible lessons. She influenced her children and others with her example of Christ-like humility and service. Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years Herman Baggett, her brother Ross Milner, and grandson Ricky Kirkpatrick. She is survived by her children Gary Baggett (Patricia), Janet Kirkpatrick (Rick), Ann Phillips (Jim), Donald Baggett (Sue), Katie Benesch (Edward), and Glen Baggett. Eighteen grandchildren survive her, as well as 29 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, her brother Sanford Milner, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at 11:00 AM, at New Braunfels Church of Christ.
