Claudio R. Palacio "Opa", a life-long resident of New Braunfels, passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the age of 70. Claudio was born on June 6, 1944 to the late Jose Palacio and Julia Aguirre. He later married the love of his life, Viola Villalobos Palacio. They were married 38 wonderful years. He retired after some 30-years from Hanson Building Materials, working as a loader operator. Survivors include his loving wife, Viola Palacio; children, Rachel Lagunas and Richard Ramirez; grandchildren, Kristy Salazar, Michael Salazar, Jr. and wife, Brandi, Roland Salazar and wife, Misti, Krystle Lagunas, Joshua Lagunas and wife, Amber, Daniel Lagunas, Jr. and Modesty Ramirez; great-grandchildren, Jaekob Keith, Aerabella Hernandez, Julianna Lagunas, Anglica Luna, Gracela Luna, Joselyn Luna, Jasmine Salazar, Brianna Salazar, Aurora Salazar, Roland Salazar, Jr., Kelsie Salazar and Orlando Salazar; brother, Lucio Aguirre; sister, Maryann Longshore and special niece, Violanda Soledad. In addition, "Opa" is survived by his three dogs, Sugar, Muffin and Tinkerbell, whom he loved dearly. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Holy Rosary at 7:00pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Comal Cemetery.
