Dale A Thompson

Dale A Thompson, 78, a longtime McQueeney resident passed away on Christmas Eve after complications following surgery the previous Monday. Born on March 23, 1944, in Battle Creek, Michigan, he was the son of the late Clifford R Thompson and Josephine Frances Ackley Thompson. Dale served in the U.S. Coast Guard where he held the rank of PFC Storekeeper. He was stationed on several different Coast Guard Cutters and at shore bases including the U.S. Coast Guard Station, Portsmouth, VA, and the U.S. Coast Guard Station, Southwest Harbor Station, MA. In 1971 he held a position working at NASA, Kennedy Space Center, Florida. He was privileged to have worked on an Apollo program team readying lunar modules for moon landings. In 1977, he and his family moved to Texas. Dale was a businessman who sold mobile home supplies, boat lifts, and second-hand appliances. He was a friend to all and held in high regard by all he met. His humor, kindness, and good nature will be sincerely missed by all who knew him. Dale is survived by his daughter, Kary Marie Wesley (Karl), grandson Holdyn Wesley, granddaughter Gina Marie Tunnell (Stephen), granddaughter Ashley Linn Wood (Dustin), and great-grandson Emerson Linn Wood. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his sister Janice J. Rushlow (2011), and his daughter Paula Ann Thompson (2021). There will be a memorial gathering on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Janeth's Taqueria, 6670 FM 725, from 3:30-5:30 PM.
