Some of David’s larger projects included Joe Ward Elementary School in Northside ISD and Alamo Toyota in San Antonio. In his early life, David attended school in Alamo Heights, was a proud Mule, and enjoyed bragging about the” superior” team to his children. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and later in life preferred feeding the deer while working in the yard. David spent many summers at Camp Flaming Arrow in Hunt, Texas and used his camping experience as he served as an assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 381. David was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife, Cheryl Smith of New Braunfels; daughter, Faelyn Smith of San Antonio; sons, Hunter Smith of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Kyle Smith of New Braunfels. David was a man who loved his family, loved history and made us laugh hard and loud.
