Debra Kay Busch Anderson

Debra Kay Busch Anderson went to be with our Lord on February 8, 2022 surrounded by love in the presence of her children in her home. Greeting her at Heaven’s Gate will be her Lord Jesus, her granddaughter and ‘cattle buddy’ Kayla Harris, and not to be forgotten countless others she loved. Among Debra’s titles over the years, grandmother and mother were her most prized positions. Kevin Anderson recalls mom’s ability to fillet catfish as fast as he and dad could clean them on their Boggess Catfish Farm business. Kelly Harris notes the many others who called Debra ‘mom’ be they family or friends. Debra was ‘that’ mom. The aunt-mom, mom, the team-mom, mom. The one look and you straightened up mom. The hear the whistle and come mom. The dependable “I’m right there if you need me,” mom. Her daughter-in-love Amber Anderson and Son-in-love Dustin Harris came to love Debra as mom through the years too, with knock poker or a dice game Farkle being a favorite family pass time. Madison and Haley will no doubt carry many memories of Grandma. Perhaps the “be careful!” greeting as they headed outside will be one of the most notable echoes. One of Debra’s nick names growing up was Sarge, perhaps being the oldest of 5 had something to do with it but personality played a large part too. Her siblings all have fond memories together on the farm like racing horses, water skiing with their Dad or fishing together, even if it was while school was happening early on. Debra had little to no desire to leave the farm, this would be the case all of her days. Tending the animals and watching the herd was undoubtedly one of her pleasures even if it came with hard work. Debra’s husband and friend of 48 years, Ken Anderson recalls adventures life threw at them lovingly stating, “There’ll never be another one like her!” Together over the years Debra and Ken built homes, threw newspapers, ran the Boggess Catfish Farm and grew their family. I think all that knew Debra would agree with Ken she was one of a kind in all of her relationships big sister, aunt and friend included. Debra will indeed be greatly missed here. However her family rejoices. Debra is now able to rest and be free from the world and all that held her down. A celebration of Debra’s life will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 11, 2022 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. So if the Son (Jesus) sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36
