Donald K. Sanders

Donald K. Sanders, 77 of Canyon Lake, TX passed away unexpectedly Sept. 11, 2019 at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels, TX. Born May 29, 1942, Don grew up in the Houston area and graduated from Sam Houston High School. He was a member of the USMC from June 1964 – October 1969 and later was employed by Southwestern Bell for 32 years. He subsequently was employed as a Lieutenant at the Kyle Correctional Facility in Kyle, TX from 2002 to 2018. Besides his wife of 19-years, Diane Lizza Sanders, Don is survived by his son Travis Praker of Canyon Lake; sister Shirley Keeton and husband Jimmy from Houston; and niece Christi Pruitt and nephew Aaron Keeton. In addition, he leaves brother-in-law Wayne Lizza, La Marque, TX and Glenn Lizza and wife Wendy Lizza and son Joseph Lizza from La Porte, TX. He loved to hunt, attend car shows and was a big fan of NASAR. Having family meals, taking long drives and watching his bird feeders were always special to him. Memorial services for Don are set for 11 a.m. Sept. 25, 2019 at Lux Funeral Home.
