Donna Elizabeth Hawkins went to heaven to be with the Lord on March 29, 2017. She was killed in an automobile accident while on a bus trip home from a church retreat with her senior church group from First Baptist Church New Braunfels. Donna was born on October 22, 1947 in Knoxville, Tennessee to William and Gertrude Fell, she had one sister; Billie Jackson. Donna's father was a retired Chief Warrant Officer III in the United States Marines and her mother was a homemaker. The family settled in Oceanside, California when Donna was 10 years old. Donna attended Oceanside High School, and the Oceanside School of Cosmetology. She was a cosmetologist for 48 years in Oceanside California where she made lifelong friends. She truly loved her job and her clients. Donna was preceded in death by her father, William Fell; mother, Gertrude Fell; sister, Billie Jackson; husband, Patrick Hawkins, and son-in-law, Kevin Wilson. Donna was a proud, loving mother of three children: MaDonna Wilson and Kimberley Ward of California, and Lieutenant Colonel William Bragg of the United States Air Force, Texas. Donna had one son in-law, Lee Ward, and one daughter-in-law, Jennifer Bragg. Donna had five amazing grandchildren who she loved and adored with her whole heart: Daniel Ward, Lindsey Purchase, Arrie Wilson, Abigail Bragg, and Landon Bragg. Donna has two grandson in law's Steven Purchase and Matthew Woodrow. Donna lived in Oceanside, California for 56 years, and upon retirement in 2014 she moved to Schertz, Texas. Donna was very involved with the Square dancing community in Southern California for over 25 years. She served on many committees and was the past president of several clubs. She loved everything Disney, and had traveled all over the world. Donna was active in her Sunday School class at First Baptist Church New Braunfels, and was active in her community, Scenic Hills in Schertz, Texas. Donna always loved an adventure and always had a smile on her face. Donna will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends who love her to Heaven and back.

  2. I just got a call from Shari. I am devastated to hear of Donna’s passing. Oh, how she loved her family and friends! -And she let us all know just how much we were loved. MaDonna, Kimberley, and William, thank you for sharing her with us for all these years. She was a very special lady whom we will never stop missing.
