Donna J. Rowan was born May 12, 1938 in Chicago Illinois. She lived a full and eclectic life; as a "greaser" in the 50's to run way model then first wave hippie. She met her husband Bill and then took on the role of wife and Mother, Girl Scout leader and partner in their Beacon Home Appliance business. She was one of the first members of ILLWIS Search & Rescue Dogs which she loved; even being featured with her group on the show 48 Hours. She loved shopping, arts and crafts and chatting with friends. She had begun to settle and love her new home in New Braunfels Texas, where she moved recently with her daughter from Johnsburg Illinois, where she had lived most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Rowan. Survived by her sister Diane Wasky (husband Greg); daughter Pam Pegues (husband Lex) and son Charles Rowan. Grandchildren, Coty Rowan, Caleb, Jacob, Shaylah Pegues and McKenzie Rowan. Sister and brothers in law Thomas, Michael, Richard, Robert, Virginia and David Rowan (deceased Margie and Stephen). Great- grandchildren, Jack, Killian and Delaney Rowan. Fond Aunt of Katelyn Rowan Turnock, Mollie, Casey Rowan and Abbie Rowan, Matt and David Rowan, William, Tim and John Hamilton. Two memorials will be held on July 14th. The first will be held at 10 a.m. at the Johnsburg Rescue Squad Park in Johnsburg Illinois. The second will be held at 3:00 p.m. at 11207 South Talman in Chicago. In her memory the family will be planting a tree with commemorative stone at the Johnsburg Rescue Park.
