Dorothy Pitzer Keith, age 89, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Kirkwood Manor. Dorothy was born on July 8, 1931 in Woodsboro, Texas to Everett and Dorothy Pitzer. Dorothy, or as she was known by everyone, Dot or Dottie, graduated from Refugio High School in 1948 and she then attended the University of Corpus Christi where she met and married James Keith, the love of her life. Dottie was very involved in business and community life. For many years, she was an Administrative Assistant. She also drafted house plans for home builders of which she always enjoyed. Dottie was also for many years the Treasurer for Ogwego Drive Community Baptist Church. Later in life, she helped manage a flooring company with her husband James. Dottie was very creative and enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, and cooking. She thoroughly enjoyed researching genealogy and family trees. Dottie never let a stray animal go hungry. She loved nature, feeding the birds and all of God's creation and beauty. Dottie loved the Lord and was a servant of Christ. Her kindness and generosity were boundless to those in need. She had a heart of gold. Dottie loved her family, her country, and all people. This truly was an example of the path God had chosen for her. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Mark Keith. Survivors include her loving husband of 71 years, James Leroy Keith; children, Paul Keith, and Sandra Bomersbach (David); sister, Kay Mallett (Jerry); and brother, Scott Pitzer (Linda). The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and caregivers of Kirkwood Manor and Hope Hospice for their support and care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan's Purse.
