Elizabeth "Liz" Langer
February 10, 1946 ~ August 29, 2022
Elizabeth Langer, a resident of Corpus Christi, passed away Monday afternoon, August 29, 2022, in New Braunfels at the age of 76. Elizabeth was born on February 10, 1946, in Fort Worth, TX to the late Edward Adkins Coats and Alma Winifred Long Coats. Elizabeth was a great supporter of the Italian Greyhound Rescue and had a passion for protecting sea turtles. She loved decorating for all holidays and entertaining. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Alma Coats; and husband, Kenneth Anthony Langer. Survivors include her daughter, Natalie (Thomas Miller); stepchildren Charlotte (Frank Krecow), Kenneth Daniel (Patricia), Lee Anne (Gary Smith) and Robert (Edward Kinser); five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by friends and community members. A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held at a later time.

I loved how easily and naturally Liz integrated into our Sunday school class whenever she visited new Braunfels. I admired her deep love for all God’s creatures , especially the miniature greyhounds. I loved her laughter and appreciated her deep loyalty to her friends. I especially admired how she lived her last few years with courage and grace. We will miss you, Liz!
Liz will be missed dearly. She has given so much to others that there is no doubt in my mind that she will have a very, very special place in Heaven. With her cooking and entertaining skills, and her desire to feed us with the most delicious meals ever, she could have easily been a star on the Food Channel. I loved spending time with her. We saw the world exactly alike. I could tell her anything, and she knew she could do the same with me. She had many gifts and accomplished, and yet she was at the same time always unassuming and gracious. I met Liz originally when together we “taught” a Vacation Bible School class. We immediately hit it off. Sad to say, but our friendship, because we both had other concerns and obligations, didn’t grow until after her husband’s passing. I can’t remember how we became better friends, but it probably was the invitations to her home which involved great conversations and as always great food. When I mentioned we needed to leave Corpus for a short trip, Liz volunteered to watch our grandchildren, seventeen year old triplets, while we were out of town for a week. They had just started driving. On our way back to Corpus, one of them had an accident, totaling her car. Liz was in the Sunday church service when she got our granddaughter’s call. Liz had just a year before lost her husband in a car accident. She and our granddaughter’s boyfriend’s father handled the accident details. She then took our granddaughter to the doctor to have her checked for any possible injuries. How can I ever repay her enough? While watching the kids and our two dogs, she chose to sleep on our couch, and comfort our needy rescue dogs during the stormy weather occurring most of the time we were away. This is a perfect example of Liz Langer’s character. I truly appreciated her and will always hold her close to my heart while I miss her dearly. I loved my sweet, dear friend Liz.

Q: How did you meet Elizabeth?
A: Elizabeth known to our church as Liz and we all were very fond of her . She just loved her missions in life like the sea turtles. She could wait to save another one along with saving dogs.
She would anything to help you .
