Elsie I. White, a resident of Canyon Lake, passed away early Monday morning, April 9, 2012 at Rio Terra Assisted Living in New Braunfels at the age of 87. Elsie was born on November 6, 1924 in Corpus Christi to Jesse Johnson and Louie Effie Duncan Johnson. During Elsie's professional career, which spanned some 22-years, she was vice president of White, Inc., located in Houston. Survivors include her loving husband, Howard F. White; children, Michael F. White, Terri L. White, Jack D. White, and Suzanne Price; 10 grandchildren and two brothers, Kenard and Wayne Johnson. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Canyon Lake Presbyterian Church, 230 Shepherd Hill Dr., Canyon Lake 78133. Memorial donations may be given to Hope Hospice, Alzheimer's Association, or to the charity of one's choice.

I just learned of Kit’s passing. She & Howard were our neighbors in Houston. From time to time after they moved to Canyon Lake I would call to see how she was doing. I last spoke with Howard in November 2011 on Kit’s birthday when I called to see how she was doing. She was a wonderful person & I am sure glad I got to know her & call her a friend! Certainly one of the best neighbors we’ve ever had. What began as just neighbors turned in to friendship. RIP, dear Kit!
