Elvira G. Lopez, a long-time resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Wednesday morning, May 13, 2020 at Resolute Health Hospital in New Braunfels at the age of 74. Elvira was born on January 8, 1946 in Dilley, TX to the late Gregorio D. Garcia and Petra M. Garcia. During Elvira’s professional career, she was employed as a home health aide for many years. Survivors include her children, Maria Christina Gonzalez and husband, Arnold, Regino Plaza Ochoa, Jr. and wife, Sylvia and Gregory Garcia Ochoa and wife, Anita; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Elva Jimenez and Ercilia Velez and brothers, Eberardo Garcia, Sr., Ernesto Garcia, Elpidio Garcia and Elmo Garcia. Elvira was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Enebelio Garcia and by her granddaughter, Regina N. Ochoa. Due to COVID-19, the family has requested that services be private and limited to immediate family members only.

  1. First I would like to send my condolences to my cousins christy, jr, and gregory.. and to the rest of our family. Even though we all have our own lives which we are living I still think and miss you all. I would like to thank tia vira, for always being there for my mom. Back in the day when my mom and dad were still together I remember spending lots of time with our tia vira. I remember her by her beautiful hair color..she was blondie..I also remember how fascinated I was going into her room and admiring ALL the different nail polishes she always had…and lipsticks..I always thought she was so beautiful and fancy..I also remember spending late nights at landa park..lol..tia and my mom talking and having a few drinks and me, april and pearl swimming at the square in the dark..sooo much fun..I love you very much tia and I will always remember your beautiful smile..may you rest in peace and many prayers to everyone..love TITA..
