Estela T. Rodriguez

Estela Rodriguez, a longtime resident of New Braunfels, gained her wings on March 2, 2020 at the age of 86. She was born to Alberto and Celia Trevino on January 31, 1934 in Kyle, TX. She was married to Alfonso Rodriguez on March 8, 1954. Estela was an amazing woman. She never knew a stranger and was always there for everyone. She was blessed to raise 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Being a Mom, grandma and granny was what she loved the most. Her "kids" meant the world to her. Just as we meant the world to her, she was our world. She will forever be known for working at a flower shop. She started with Elveras, later Comal Flowers and was lastly with Weidners Flower shop. Granny loved doing flower arrangements, football mums and balloon bouquets. She delivered flowers all over New Braunfels and if you ever needed to know how to get somewhere, she could always give you the directions without looking at a map. She was an avid sports fan and never missed a game when any of her teams played on tv. Especially her Yankees and her Longhorns! Granny also traveled all over for her kids’ sports as well. Not just local games but if the kids had to travel out of town, she was there. Baseball, soccer, football, basketball, you name it; she was there! We could all count on her being our biggest fan. In addition to her husband Alfonso and her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters; Doloris Trevino, Elida Trevino, Angelita Campos, Santiaga Aguirre, Margarita T. Trevino, and Rosa Regalado. She is survived by her sisters and brother, Mary Palacios, Gloria Trevino and Rev. Albert Trevino; her children, Maria E. Serna and her husband Steve, Juanita Gutierrez and her husband Adolfo, Suzanne Quiroz and her husband Robert, Alfonso II and his wife Kathleen, Michael Rodriguez; her grandchildren, Stefany & Rob Watson, Steve & Sarhece Serna, Marcus Gutierrez, David Gutierrez, Christian Gutierrez, Sasha & Joseph Larabee, Adrian Quiroz, Erika & Wesley Rhoades, Thomas Rodriguez & Katherine White, Kevin & Regan Rodriguez, Amanda & Jess Farnsworth, Michael Leroy Rodriguez and Albert Rodriguez, WallyMae & Maurice Larabee; her great-grandchildren, Sebastian & Analisa Serna-Watson, Sophia, Stella & Sadie Serna, Makaylee & Calvin Hernandez, John, Mason & Lilliana Rhoades, Charlie Rodriguez, Jude Popp and Aayden Rodriguez. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Eden Home from both The Oaks and The Willows for the care and love they gave Mom. Also, Hope Hospice for the care they gave Mom and the guidance they gave to us, the family. A private family viewing will be held on March 4, 2020. Arrangements are pending for a memorial mass.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Estella was a very sweet person, beautiful indide & out. We will remember her always smiling & friendly. Our most sincere condolences to her family. God BLESS her sweet soul. Frances & Librado Rodriguez & family .

  2. My condolences to the family. I want to share memories I recall. Actually witnessing some stories I recall my dear Mommy, Angelita Trevino Campos proudly told so lovingly again & again. Tia Estella was pitcher in a women softball league. She was not just any pitcher, but the BEST PITCHER you could ever know. I recall going several games with Mommy. Just the way that Tia Estella stood at the pitcher’s mound, it was enough to get the batters shaking. She’d twirl her arm total 360 degree before letting go of the ball. The ball’s speed was to be feared. If the batter was lucky maybe she’d get a hit, but the as the call goes, “STRIKE 3, YOU’RE OUT! Tia Estella was notorious for striking batters out! I for one, can proudly say, that Super Great Pitcher is my Tia! And from what I see, my Tia kids, grandkids and great-grandkids will also forever have very dear and fond memories of her. We should all be that lucky, to have everyone love with in such depth. Treasure your memories, are words that need not be advised, it is apparent you each recognize the Jewel you had in her. As for me, I still carry the vision of her at the pitcher’s mound, throwing that fast pitch. Sending love to all, in my absence as I am unable to attend. Just as Mommy did upon me, I know Tia exemplified strength on all of you, so I know you will be strong, and the memories will get you past this to heal the pain & fill emptiness. God will bless you each for loving her so much. In closing know that to be absent from the body, is to be in the presence of our Lord! AMEN! Deanna Campos Villarreal

  3. Extending our sincere Condolences to the Family, may she rest in peach. Ricardo & Rosie Martinez

  4. What a lovely lady with such a loving heart. I remember Estela when I used to come to the flower shop to visit my sister-in law, Margarita T. (Mage) Martinez where they would work endlessly to make their beautiful flower arrangements for their customers. She always wore a smile that could light up any room. My condolences to her family on such a great loss. May she rest peacefully in the arms of our Heavenly Father and may her family find comfort in knowing that one day they will be reunited once again.
