Evaristo R. Landin, Jr., a life-long resident of New Braunfels, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 in San Antonio at the age of 54. Mr. Landin was born on May 22, 1957 in New Braunfels to Evaristo R. Landin, Sr. and Teresa McKinnis Landin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evaristo R. and Teresa Landin. Survivors include his loving wife, Delia G. Landin; daughter, Nicole Landin and fianc, Josh Speck, and son, Andrew Landin. During his professional career, he was employed by Waterpark Management INC. As a kid, he grew up playing baseball then later coached his own son and many others in little league and loved watching his son play high school and college baseball. In addition, other past time activities included family vacations, and you could always find him by his Bar-B-Q pit on the weekends. If anyone needed help with a benefit plate sale he was always quick to lend his Bar-B-Q skills. He was a loving, dependable, and very hard working and caring man who will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation will take place from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel, 1254 Business 35 N. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. The funeral procession will depart from the Lux Funeral Home Chapel at 9:45 AM on Monday, July 25, 2011 for a 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church in New Braunfels. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Cemetery #1 in Selma.

  24. Delia – I do not know if you will remember me but I only spoke with you by phone several years ago when we were handling a probate matter for the Landin Family. Jr was a devoted husband & father, he would be very honored to know that we have had an overwhelming support (family & friends) starting from all the food, prayers, cards, monetary donations, phone calls, flowers or just coming by the house to see us all as a family.We are sorry that we did not get to visit w/most of you at the church service, but we were very touched to see all of you pay your last respects to someone that touched many lives for the short period of time he was here.   38. I knew Everisto as Jr because of my two older brothers Juan and Adam, I remember Jr as a very athletic person in high school.Always involved in sports . He was a big time sports freak. This was a guy that had values in life when it came to education and athletics. I saw Jr about 5 years ago at HEB and he looked very like himself and the conversation I had with him was pleasent. we talked about our youth days and shared of each others lives. Jr will always be missed in my heart for being a good friend.Juan, Adam and I (George) send our condolenses to the family.God Bless You All.

  39. It was a long time ago when we met. Yet, it seems like yesterday. I am so sorry about your loss, especially at such a young age. I have started looking at death as an open wound that eventually heals, but the scar remains forever. You will have good days and bad and some jump up when you least expect it.
