Evelyn Delores Plombon Tait passed from the presence of her earthly family into the arms of her heavenly family June 6, 2018 at her home. She was born November 9, 1921 in Foley Minnesota. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Lawrence H. Tait, her parents Vincent and Mary Plombon, 3 brothers, 7 sisters, and great granddaughter Amelia Kate Britell. Evelyn is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Donna Tait of Kerrville, David and Trish Tait of Columbia S.C., daughter and son-in law, Mary and Bill Martin of Waco, and son Scott Tait of Oklahoma. Her 7 grandchildren and spouses include: Audrey and David Cortes of Waco, Emily and Vernon Reaser of Houston, Ashley and Pat Britell of Charleston S.C., Matthew Toungate of California, Melissa Tait of Austin, Elliott and Laura Tait of Charleston S.C., and Allison and Tim Combs of Virginia. 6 great grandchildren include: Addison Ann and Lainey Brooke Cortes, Elizabeth Lauren and Clara Grace Reaser and Anderson Scott and Madeline Joy Britell. Evelyn grew up in Stanley Wisconsin, graduated from the University of Wisconsin at River Falls, taught H.S. English, married and raised a family of her own. She was a loving, caring wife, mother and “Nonnie” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren She delighted her family with home cooked meals and her specially baked and decorated holiday cookies. She enjoyed travel with her husband, trips with her extended family to the Texas coast and visits to Landa Park. Most of her child rearing years were spent in Austin and her retirement years in New Braunfels. Evelyn was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church where she sang in the choir and served on St Ann’s Christian Mother’s Altar Society. She was also involved in caring for sick and homebound in New Braunfels, and volunteered at Eden Home, the Newcomers Club, and the Senior Center. Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice or St Ann’s Christian Mother’s Altar Society at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, both of New Braunfels.
