Frances Talamantez Rios of San Antonio, Texas passed away on 10/28/2022. Frances is survived by her only child, Gabriel Rios and his wife Paige Rios of New Braunfels, Texas. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Juliet Rios, Diego Rios, Brett Koehler and Lacey Koehler; her sister, Veronica Talamantez, of San Antonio, Texas, and brother Victor Talamantez Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; Aunt Inez Villareal of New Braunfels, Texas; cousins, Celcilia and Frank Jasso; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Members of the Rios Family also remained close with Frances and her family throughout her life. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Conception Talamantez of San Antonio, Texas. Her aunts and uncles, Maria and Eustacio Talamantez, Norberta and Anselemo Galnido of San Antonio, Texas; Rosa and Manuel Martinez, Chavela and Fidencio Luna, and Felipe Villarreal of New Braunfels, Texas; and sister-in-law, Rose Mary Talamantez of San Antonio, Texas. Frances was a kind soul with a giving heart. She graduated from Luther Burbank High School in 1966. She was active in numerous clubs and was an Officer of the Orange Jackets Pep Squad. She was married after graduating and enjoyed dabbling in real estate, making flower arrangements and traveling. She enjoyed going to Las Vegas, Nevada and Coushatta Resort in Louisiana with her mother and sister. In 1980, she went to work for the City of San Antonio. She dedicated over twenty years of service to the City of San Antonio. She worked as the Executive Assistant of Mayor Lila Cockerel, Mayor Henry G. Cisneros, and City Manager Alex Briseno. Frances loved music, bingo, and shopping. She knew God and believed in helping everyone. She will be missed by all who knew her. The family would also like to thank Morningside at the Meadows and Vitas Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Frances. A visitation will held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM at the Lux Funeral Home chapel. All services will conclude at the end of the visitation.
