Frank Craig Leinweber

Frank Craig Leinweber passed away quietly at his home in the early hours of January 10, 2012. He was born July 12, 1934 in San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by his daughter, India Leinweber, grandchildren, Sean Higginbotham and Megan Higginbotham, and sister, Enid Lorenzen, all of New Braunfels. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Joyce Copeland Leinweber, his son, Michael Craig Leinweber, and his parents, Frank Palmer Leinweber and Olive Ethel Budlong Leinweber. He served in the USMC and spent his life as a machinist. As an avid fisherman, he loved to spend hours in Port Aransas on the pier and meeting new friends, he never met a stranger. He enjoyed traveling as well and claimed that the best years of his life were the three that he spent with his wife of 48 years, Betty, traveling in their RV across the entire US, Alaska, Canada, and even Greenland. He loved sharing exploits of that adventure, especially with friends and neighbors. Frank loved spending evenings with neighbors and friends on the front porch sharing stories of his colorful childhood and travels. He is remembered also for his sense of humor which he maintained until the very end. There will be a memorial service at 4:00 on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Harmony Baptist church on 1472 S. Hwy 46, New Braunfels, Tex, 78130. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either Hope Hospice on 611 N. Walnut, New Braunfels, or the American Cancer Society.
