  1. I only got to know Gene in the last 5 (or so) years, he was my father in-law since 2014 when I married his youngest daughter. From the many stories I hear, Gene had a wild streak and a knack for getting into his fair share of messes. One thing I learned about Gene that inspired me was his generosity. That man had a HUGE heart! He would help anyone he could, including someone who had done him wrong, he wouldn’t think twice about it. I heard him say once, “If you can help somebody out , well, that’s what you’re supposed to do”. Gene was by no means perfect (who is?), but he was one of the good ones. I am grateful to have got to know him like I did. He is and will continue to be missed dearly. Rest In Peace Gene
