A: Gilbert was very influential in my career . He knew everyone by name and also had fun giving nicknames . I would play puddle of mud- blurry in the store we worked at together (oreilly auto) and he would always tell me of his time seeing the band in concert ! I will always think of him when the song plays . When my son was born he congratulated my husband with a pack of cigars . For the next 20 years we will light a cigar for my sons birthday and be thinking of you Gilbert. I will carry some of the qualities you shined in your work with me for the remainder of my career . Thank you for your presence . With love , Aneesa and the Espinozas .

  8. I’d like to express my sincere condolences to family of Gilbert Gonzales. My fondest memories of Gilbert is listening to him play his drums to the “Blues” with multiple bands thru the years. He was known as “Big Daddy Blues”. He was a very kind and wonderful man who was loved by so many of his fellow musician friends and people who knew him. A loving husband and father to his children, whom I had the pleasure of knowing and caring for this exceptional man. May he rest peacefully with Gods’ angels in Heaven.

  9. I’m Gilbert’s niece Cathy from my Tia’s side. I live in Phoenix Arizona so I wasn’t as close to him as I would have liked but I always thought he was a cool uncle. I remember the hot rod and the speed boat I never rode in because I was too afraid. When we would visit New Braunfels my uncle Gilbert always would tell me “you have to come down for Fiesta Texas” and one year out of the blue he sent me a Fiesta Texas t-shirt and the information just in case I could make it down there, sadly I never did but I still have that shirt and every time I wore it or see it I always thought of him my cool uncle. To my Tia and cousins I’m so sorry and you all are in my prayers, love you.

  10. My condolences to Vira and family. Gilbert will be missed. He is now with god. Gilbert was a very nice person and talented. May god bless you Vira. If you need anything. Please, let me know. Love you, friend Teresa G. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

  11. I knew Gilbert since the late seventy’s when he was working for Darwin Dieterts rest in peace brother veteran. Joe Medina Retired US Army.

  12. My mom, Librada (Lee) Campos was an aunt to Gilbert. I know my mother had a deep love for all her nieces and nephews, just as I know that she was there to greet my primo Gilbert along with other family members who have passed. May you rest in eternal peace, until we meet again. ♥️
