Guadalupe Perez Guerrero, age 84, and long-time resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Sunday afternoon, January 14, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Guadalupe was born on December 7, 1933 in Zorn, TX to Martin Perez and Teresa Garcia Perez. She later married Alejandro Guerrero, who preceded her in death on August 13, 1989. First and foremost, Guadalupe was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, but during her professional career, she was a long-time nanny for the Henry family, caring for their grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, and by her daughter, Isabel Flores. Survivors include her children, Dora Guerrero, Sylvia Lagunas, Marie Carrara, Elvis Guerrero, John Kennedy Guerrero, Eloy Guerrero, Adriana Guerrero, David Guerrero and Salvador Ricardo Guerrero and wife, Lucia. In addition, Guadalupe is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Camillo Botello, Jr., MSF as celebrant. All services will end at the conclusion of the Funeral Mass. Please note: there will not be a procession from the funeral home to the church on Friday morning. All wishing to attend the Funeral Mass are ask to meet at 9:45 AM on Friday morning at the church.

  1. My condolences to the Perez and Guerrero families. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of dear Guadalupe. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which states in part: “Your dead ones will live…They will rise up”. And the Bible also says “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will forever reside upon it”. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out”. This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ’s ransom sacrifice.
