Hugh "Steve" Hargrove

Steve Hargrove passed away on December 3, 2022 at the age of 81. He was born on August 18, 1941 in Concho, Oklahoma to Henry (H.G.) and Ada Hargrove. He attended school in Andrews, Texas and graduated from Andrews High School in 1959. Steve married Judy Newton in Midland, Texas in 1966. They had one child, Stephen E. Hargrove. They later moved to Odessa, Texas where he attended Odessa College to obtain his associate’s degree in management. Steve spent his younger years working in automobile dealerships in both Midland and Odessa as a mechanic, assistant service manager, and service manager. Steve left the dealerships and went to Midland College where he spent ten years teaching young minds about automotive technology. In July 2012, he retired and he and Judy moved to New Braunfels, Texas shortly afterward to be close to family. Steve served in the National Guard from 1963 to 1969. He loved the World War II era and was a collector of all WWII military equipment. Steve was a member of the National Rifle Associate and the Odessa Pistol Club, where he earned several medals as a sharp-shooter. Steve loved his family and enjoyed vacations with them. Steve is remembered by his family as a very generous man. Steve was a wonderful father, husband, and provider for his family. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael. He is survived by his wife, Judy of New Braunfels; his son, Stephen and his wife, Lori of San Antonio; his grandson, Justin Goodson and his wife, Kayla of Odessa; his granddaughter, Leighanna Glickstein and her husband, Andrew of San Antonio; and three great-grandchildren, Oliver, Eleanor, and Faye. At his request, Steve will be cremated in New Braunfels, Texas, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
