jaime aguilar, sr.
Jaime G. Aguilar, Sr., a life-long resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 (DΓa de la Virgen de Guadalupe) at Resolute Health Hospital in New Braunfels at the age of 62. Jaime was born on November 16, 1958 in New Braunfels to the late Jose Teodoro Aguilar and Lupe Gonzales Aguilar. He was a graduate of New Braunfels High School (1978) and a proud member of the Mighty Unicorn Marching Band. He was united in holy matrimony to his loving wife, Delia F. Aguilar in November of 1979. This union of 41-years was blessed with seven children (all boys). Jaime was a long-time member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Braunfels. At an early age, he was recognized as a Cursillista, a church member dedicated in professing faith in Jesus Christ. His affinity for music lead to his teaching and directing of church hymns. He served as church choir director for several decades establishing his own Conjunto choir. Jaime could not be prouder when performing in the church choir with his children during his prime. His musicianship bestowed upon the church community was as beautiful as the relationships he harbored as band leader of Conjunto Aguilar, a family music group. Conjunto Aguilar contributed to music celebrations through community events, including weddings, festivals, and birthdays. Jaime’s passion for music will forever be cherished and remembered in the lives of his family and all who knew him. Jaime was a generous spirit, a man who provided endless sacrifice, a storyteller and listener, a wise old soul who appreciated the simple things in life, a song writer and musician with his cup of coffee, a loving husband and father full of jokes, an adviser and best friend, a man who will be missed dearly for his life lessons, music, and unconditional love that will never be forgotten, his legacy present and strong, and his memory to live on, forever in our hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Lupe Aguilar, and brother, Ladislao G. Campos Jr. Survivors include the love of his life, Delia F. Aguilar; children: Israel Rodriguez III, Ismael Rodriguez, Orlando Rodriguez, Cruz Rodriguez, Jaime T. Aguilar, Dr. Ladislao F. Aguilar, Jaime G. Aguilar Jr.; twenty grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren; a host of devoted cousins and friends.
