James "Jim" R. Van Rosendael

James “Jim” R. Van Rosendael, age 88, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, June 14, 2019 in Seguin, Texas after a long battle with Cancer. Jim was surrounded at home by family and loved ones at the time of his passing. Jim was born on April 09, 1931 in Rochester, New York and was preceded in death by his Father- William Frederick Van Rosendael, Mother- Victoria Sophia Zacewicz, Brother- William Van Rosendael and Brother- John Van Rosendael. Jim is survived by his two children- Daughter- Mary Kay Williams and Son- Mark Van Rosendael. Jim is also survived by Five Grandchildren, Nine- Great-Grandchildren, and One Great-Great-grandchild. Jim served as a SSgt. USAF93rd Bomb Squadron in the Korean War from 1950-1954. Jim was also a Salesman, Business Owner, and was very involved in Volunteer work at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Seguin, Texas from 1998 to 2019. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Seguin. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the church. Interment will immediately follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery in Seguin. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jim’s honor may be made to the Missionaries of the Holy Family Organization- (msf-america.org).

I’ve known Mr. Van for over 40 years through his son Mark (my best friend). Many years ago Jim and Ray, Mary Kays husband, took Mark and I do a driving range in Seguin. First and only time I’ve been near a golf course. We had a blast knocking the ball around that day. Through my travels through Seguin as well as my visits to town, I got to visit Jim when I could. He always had a smile on his face and always a kind word and always ready to hand you a little advice about this or that. His battle is over now but now he begins his Heavenly journey with our Lord. R.I.P. Mr. Van.
learned of my Uncle’s passing this weekend. Rest in Peace Uncle Jim. I remember you visiting us in New York in your Air Force days and a decade and a half later, I joined the USAF. Must have liked the uniform. We caught up in 1984? with a temporary duty I had at the General Dynamics plant in Fort Worth. Last time we talked was 9-10 years ago when we conversed in faith and the Knights of Columbus. You also spoke of developing a VanRosendael family tree. Sent what info I had that your brother John had given me. God Bless to the extended family.
