Jesse Chapa

jesse chapa
Jesse Trejo Chapa, age 73, passed away at his residence on Saturday, January 9, 2021. Jesse was born on February 16, 1947 in New Braunfels, Texas to Juan Chapa and Juanita Trejo Chapa. Jesse Chapa was a fun-loving, kind and gentle man. He had a bigger than life personality with a witty sense of humor. A man of few, but impactful words. Any given Sunday or Monday night you could find him (and probably hear him) on his recliner watching and yelling at his beloved Cowboys football team. If there was a Spurs game on he’d be doing the same. A baker by trade. He was the go-to for cakes and cookies for any special occasion. He could whip something up quickly, when you had a sweet craving. Two of his favorite pass times were fishing and bowling with the grandchildren. Activities that he helped foster a love for within his family. But his greatest pass time was holding the love of his life (sugar babe) in his arms as they glided in sync to any given music on any dance floor. They were a true image of two becoming one when they were together. A true Love Story. Jesse is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Enrique, Erasmo, Rosa and Raul. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Hortensia Chapa; children, Daniel Chapa (Lisa) Julissa Parra (Armando), and Martha Chapa; grandchildren, Jeremy, Cassara, Caden, Cerina, Elijah, Jonah, and Mariah; and siblings, Raymond (Mary), Ruben, Alice, Louis (Natalie), Mary (Cruz), Elenor, and Lupe (SIL) and Socorro (SIL). Jesse is survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the Lux Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Due to COVID, everyone that attends the services must wear a mask.
